Book Scan (basic service)
What can be scanned? (all originals will be cut to sheets for scanning)
Paper Back, Text Book, Hard Cover, Magazine, Printed sheets (please remove staples)
Any style of book and paper having up to letter size width (cut size 8.5 in).
Minimum order of one book and up to as many as you can ship to us.
Thin leaf page book such as dictionaries may be too thin to run through scanner.
Cut and Scan

Up to first 300 pages are treated as 1 book equivalent (BE).  After first 301 pages, every 200 page increment will be treated as one additional book count.  To count pages, first we take the highest printed page number of its main body of text, as an initial logged count, and after scanning, we record the numbers of pages scanned for the book. When the scanned numbers of pages are exceeding more than 10% of logged number, the scanned number of pages will be taken to count BE.  That means that front and back contents (preface, index, acknowledgement, index, etc.) without main page number printed will be scanned as our courtesy unless the total scanned pages will not exceed more than 10% of the main page number.

<When original prints are totally Black and White>
The scan mode is selected normally Black & White for its small file size and optional setting of 'Deskew by text' and 'Reduce bleed-through' is selected).

<When the book has texts or graphics in Color or Gray-Scale printing>
When these color or gray-scale printed pages exist, usually Auto-Color setting will be used.
​However, when the book is old and weathered to have pages discolored, Auto Color setting will judge it as colored, and therefore Auto-Color will not work. Thus, we take extra step as follows (Additional Charge will be applied):
1. Scan in Black & White.
2. Selectively scan Color or Gray-Scale pages in Color or GS accordingly.
3. Replace originally C or GS pages scanned in B&W with re-scanned pages.

Book title, author's name, and number of pages with process code will be used to name the file unless requested in different format (Title_Author_Page_A.pdf).

All files will be stored for download in free online storage (Dropbox) accessible by the customer.  The customer will be notified by email after files are uploaded.  Files are accessible for two weeks after email notice.
